As many of you know, our patron, Alan Rickman sadly passed away early this year. It was a great loss to all who knew and admired him, both personally and through his films.
In partnership with the Phoenix Cinema in Finchley and featuring some very special guests, Saving Faces is laying out the red carpet for an exclusive charity preview of his last live action film, Eye in the Sky, on Tuesday the 12th of April at 7pm. Tickets are £15.
The 2016 London Marathon takes place on Sunday the 24th of April. We are proud to say, we have three fantastic runners who are raising money for Saving Faces.
“As a surgeon I don’t want to sound defeatist, but surgery is not the best answer to this societal problem. A combination of regulation, punishment and education to achieve prevention would be the best approach”
Thank you to Beneden School in Kent who are hosting the Saving Faces Art Exhibition as part of British Science Week.
Kuldeep Rehal sadly passed away on the 29th of July after a battle with cancer. Since then his family and friends have been banding together to raise funds and awareness for Saving Faces.

The Phoenix Cinema in Finchley have offered to host a screening of “Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves” on Sunday 24 January 2016 at 12:00 noon. This is in memory of Patron Alan Rickman and Professor Hutchison will be there to introduce the film. 50% of all proceeds will be donated to Saving Faces.
Since the sad passing of our patron, Alan Rickman, kind words and messages of condolence have been arriving from near and far. This is Professor Parveen Kumar’s tribute:
“I met Alan at the Saving Faces launch of the World’s 1st National Facial Oral and Oculoplastic Research Centre. Before it started I was asked to go and talk to ‘Alan’. I said ‘Alan who?’ and turning around found myself face to face with Alan Rickman! A totally unexpected encounter on the equally unlikely occasion of the launch of a ground-breaking Research Centre at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
All of us at Saving Faces are devastated by the death of our wonderful patron Alan Rickman. As recently as November 2014 he launched Saving Faces National (soon to be European) Research Centre at a free public event at London’s SouthBank Arts Centre.
Over 1000 people listened as in his magnificent inimitable voice he spoke eloquently and humbly about how the research carried out through this centre, the world’s first and only Facial Surgery Research Centre, would improve the physical and emotional treatment for all people suffering facial disease or injury worldwide.
