Pioneering surgeons at The Royal London Hospital are repairing our broken cyclists.

George Boden’s new jaw is made from his shoulder blade. The skin and muscle of his chin was grafted on from his back, while a lower lip was fashioned from his top lip. One of his doctors, Mr Simon Holmes, lead facial trauma surgeon at Barts Health and a Trustee of Saving Faces, says the injury that required Boden’s facial reconstruction was similar to gunshot damage. But he wasn’t hit by a bullet — he came off his bike.
